The present invention relates to an apparatus for converting power for a vehicle in consideration of OTA update, and a method thereof. According to the present invention, a battery sensor can measure consumption currents of a battery provided in a vehicle, an update management unit can determine a time consumed for updating a controller of the vehicle, and a control unit can calculate a voltage compensation value of the battery based on the time consumed for updating the consumption currents of the battery and the controller and perform voltage compensation control of the battery in accordance with the calculated voltage compensation value. Accordingly, ageing of the vehicle battery is delayed, and high-level OTA updata success rate is secured.

    본 발명은 OTA 업데이트가 고려된 차량용 전력 변환 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 의하면, 배터리 센서는 차량에 구비되는 배터리의 소모 전류를 측정하고, 업데이트 관리부는 차량의 제어기 업데이트에 소요되는 시간을 판단하고, 제어부는 배터리의 소모 전류 및 제어기 업데이트에 소요되는 시간을 기반으로, 배터리의 전압 보상치를 산출하고, 산출된 전압 보상치에 따라 배터리의 전압 보상 제어를 수행할 수 있다. 본 발명을 통해, 차량 배터리의 노후화를 지연시키며, 높은 수준의 OTA 업데이트 성공률을 보장하는 효과를 제공할 수 있다.
