A rotor (1, 19) for electrical machinery (27) comprises: a rotor shaft (3, 20); a lamination core (2) which is aligned on the rotor shaft (3, 20) and has a plurality of stacked electrical laminations; a first end portion plate (4) which is aligned on the axial side surface of the lamination core (2), and has a radial protrusion part (6) aligned along the circumference; a second end portion plate (5) which is aligned on the opposite axial side surface of the lamination core (2), and has a radial protrusion part (7) aligned along the circumference; a plurality of rotor winding wires (8) which are wound up around the protrusion part (6) of the first end portion plate (4) and around the axially facing protrusion part (7) of the second end portion plate (5), respectively; a port-shape first end portion cap (12) which axially covers the first end portion plate (4) so that a first cavity (14) is formed between the first end portion cap (12) and the first end portion plate (4); a port-shape second end portion cap (15) which axially covers the second end portion plate (5) so that a second cavity (16) is formed between the second end portion cap (15) and the second end portion plate (5); and a cooling duct (17) which axially extends between the two adjacent rotor winding wires (8), and connects the first cavity (14) to the second cavity (16).
