According to an embodiment of the present invention, a battery life determination device includes: a sensor which measures a voltage of a battery; and a controller which calculates an average value of a battery depth of discharge based on a voltage of the battery depending on a battery discharging after key off of a vehicle and a battery charging while driving of the vehicle, and determines a battery life by comparing a number of start-on times after the key off with a number of battery life end cycles corresponding to the average value, thereby minimizing problems of start-on failures and charging delays, and providing customers with reliable battery information.

    본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 수명 판단 장치는 배터리의 전압을 측정하는 센서와, 차량의 키 오프 이후 배터리 방전 및 주행 시 배터리 충전에 따른 상기 배터리의 전압을 기반으로 배터리 방전심도(Depth of Discharge)의 평균값을 산출하고, 상기 키 오프 이후 시동 온 횟수와 평균값에 상응하는 배터리 수명 종료 사이클 수를 비교하여 상기 배터리의 수명을 판단하는 제어부를 포함하여, 시동 불량, 충전 지연의 문제를 최소화하며 고객에게 신뢰성이 향상된 배터리 정보를 제공할 수 있다.
