A ship emergency braking system that operates by ocean current friction during ship operation without installing expensive equipment is disclosed. The ship emergency braking system comprises: a rotary braking unit rotatably installed on the side of the ship's hull and rotating and protruding in a direction opposite to the sailing direction of a ship; a fixing unit which secures the rotary braking unit to the side of the hull when the rotary braking unit does not rotate; and a driving unit which rotates the rotary braking unit to its original position in the opposite direction of rotation and positions it in contact with the surface of the hull.
