An icebreaker is disclosed. The icebreaker according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a pod propeller provided on one side of the aft side of a hull and providing a propulsion or steering function of the hull; a center skeg provided in the center area of the hull adjacent to the pod propeller and doubling the steering function together with the pod propeller; and a flow rate increasing unit provided on the hull and the center skeg, and forcibly increasing the flow rate in the center skeg area. An objective of the present invention is to provide the icebreaker capable of solving a problem of erosion of the pod propeller by forcibly increasing the flow rate in the center skeg area adjacent to the POD propeller.

    쇄빙선이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 쇄빙선은, 선체의 후미 일측에 마련되며, 선체의 추진 또는 조타 기능을 제공하는 포드(POD) 추진기; 포드 추진기에 이웃하게 선체의 센터(center) 영역에 마련되어 포드 추진기와 함께 조타 기능을 배가시키는 센터 스케그; 및 선체와 센터 스케그에 마련되며, 센터 스케그 영역의 유속을 강제로 증가시키는 유속 증가부를 포함한다.
