The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire having a hidden lateral groove, wherein the pneumatic tire has exposed transverse grooves commonly formed on a tread and shoulder of the tire and hidden transverse grooves which are temporarily unexposed inside each gap between the exposed transverse grooves and are exposed when wear of the tread and shoulder has progressed to a certain extent. By forming hidden transverse grooves, which are temporarily unexposed, between the exposed transverse grooves, the hidden transverse grooves are exposed according to a degree of wear of the tread and shoulder so that drainage performance and driving performance are improved.

    본 발명은 숨은 횡그루브를 구비한 공기입 타이어에 관한 것으로, 타이어의 트레드 및 숄더에 일반적으로 형성된 노출 횡그루브와, 상기 노출 횡그루브의 사이마다 내부에 일시적으로 비노출 상태에 있다가 트레드 및 숄더의 마모가 일정 부분 진행된 경우에 노출되도록 한 숨은 횡그루브가 더 형성되어 이루어지며, 노출 횡그루브 사이 내부에 일시적으로 비노출되는 숨은 횡그루브를 더 형성함으로써, 트레드 및 숄더의 마모 정도에 따라 숨은 횡그루브가 노출되도록 하여 배수 성능을 고양시키고 주행성능도 향상되도록 하는 효과가 있다.
