Disclosed are a system and a method for estimating a gradient of a road. The system comprises: a camera installed in a vehicle and capturing a front image of the vehicle; a lane recognition unit recognizing a lane of a driving road, where the vehicle drives, from the front image captured by the camera and recognizing the lane of a predicted road where driving is predicted; and a gradient estimation unit estimating a gradient of the predicted road where the driving of the vehicle is predicted based on the recognized lanes of the driving road and the predicted road.

    차량에 설치되고, 차량의 전방 영상을 촬영하는 카메라; 카메라에서 촬영한 전방 영상으로부터 차량이 주행 중인 주행도로의 차선 및 주행이 예상되는 예상도로의 차선을 인식하는 차선인식부; 및 인식한 주행도로의 차선 및 예상도로의 차선을 기반으로 차량의 주행이 예상되는 예상도로의 경사도를 추정하는 경사도추정부;를 포함하는 도로의 경사도 추정 시스템 및 방법이 소개된다.
