The present invention relates to a vehicle control device, and an inter-vehicle distance control method using the same. The vehicle control device comprises: an object obtaining unit obtaining information about an object near a vehicle; a forward gaze sensing unit sensing whether a driver inside the vehicle looks forward; and an inter-vehicle distance control unit controlling a distance between the vehicle and a preceding vehicle driving on a front side of the vehicle whether the driver looks forward.

    본 발명은 차량 제어 장치 및 차간 거리 제어 방법에 관한 것이다. 차량 제어 장치는 차량 주변의 객체에 대한 정보를 획득하는 객체 획득부와; 상기 차량 내 운전자의 전방 주시 여부를 감지하는 전방 주시 감지부와; 상기 전방 주시 여부에 따라 상기 차량과 상기 차량의 전방에 운행 중인 전방 차량 간의 차량 거리를 제어하는 차간 거리 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.
