According to a desirable embodiment of the present invention, a battery monitoring system with overcurrent and low current protection circuits comprises: a voltage sensing unit sensing the voltage of a battery cell; a balancing switch performing the balancing of the battery cell based on a sensing result of the voltage sensing unit; an overcurrent protection circuit blocking the flow of an overcurrent when the overcurrent flows through an output terminal of the balancing switch; and a low current protection circuit for supplying additional current to the output terminal of the balancing switch when a low current flows through the output terminal of the balancing switch.

    본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 따른 과전류 및 저전류 보호회로를 구비한 배터리 모니터링 시스템은, 배터리 셀의 전압을 센싱하는 전압 센싱부, 상기 전압 센싱부의 센싱 결과를 기초로 상기 배터리 셀의 밸런싱을 수행하는 밸런싱 스위치, 상기 밸런싱 스위치의 출력단에 과전류가 흐르는 경우, 상기 과전류의 흐름을 차단하는 과전류 보호회로, 및 상기 밸런싱 스위치의 출력단에 저전류가 흐르는 경우, 상기 밸런싱 스위치의 출력단에 추가 전류를 공급하는 저전류 보호회로를 포함한다.
