A battery management apparatus is disclosed. One embodiment comprises: a first transceiver for receiving a first infrared signal output from an adjacent battery management apparatus and processing the first infrared signal; a controller for extracting information from the processed first infrared signal; and a second transceiver for outputting a second infrared signal based on the extracted information.
