The present invention aims to obtain a modified conjugated diene-based polymer having an appropriately high Mooney viscosity, thereby being capable of obtaining a rubber composition with excellent processability, and obtaining a crosslinked body exhibiting excellent low heat generation properties. The modified conjugated diene-based polymer is produced by a method comprising the processes of: obtaining a conjugated diene-based polymer having an active end by polymerizing a monomer including a conjugated diene compound in the presence of a metal amide compound obtained by mixing an alkali metal compound or an alkaline earth metal compound and a compound (A); and making the conjugated diene-based polymer having an active end react with a compound represented by chemical formula (1). (A) is a compound having at least one nitrogen-containing group selected from the group consisting of a protected secondary amino group and a tertiary amino group, and one secondary amino group.

    (과제) 무니 점도가 적절히 높아, 가공성이 양호한 고무 조성물을 얻을 수 있고, 또한 우수한 저발열성을 나타내는 가교체를 얻을 수 있는 변성 공액 디엔계 중합체를 얻는 것이다. (해결 수단) 알칼리 금속 화합물 또는 알칼리 토금속 화합물과, (A) 화합물을 혼합하여 얻어지는 금속 아미드 화합물의 존재하에서 공액 디엔 화합물을 포함하는 모노머를 중합하여, 활성 말단을 갖는 공액 디엔계 중합체를 얻는 공정과, 활성 말단을 갖는 공액 디엔계 중합체와, 식 (1)로 나타나는 화합물을 반응시키는 공정을 포함하는 방법에 의해 변성 공액 디엔계 중합체를 제조한다.
