The present invention relates to a variable compression ratio control system and a variable compression ratio control method. The variable compression ratio control system of the present invention comprises: a driver support unit for sensing surrounding vehicle information; and a compression ratio change unit for changing a compression ratio during driving. In the variable compression ratio control system of a vehicle implementing a neutral control mode for blocking power transmission by a transmission while driving, the compression ratio change unit is operated by using information obtained by a driver support unit during implementation of the neutral control mode, and a compression ratio is changed during inertial driving in which the neutral control mode is implemented, such that the impact due to a change in the compression ratio is not transferred to a driver. Also, an engine operating sound is small, such that a change in the engine operating sound is difficult to be recognized by the driver. Accordingly, the driver is not aware of the difference that may indicate a vehicle failure during a change in the compression ratio.

    본 발명은 가변 압축비 제어 시스템 및 가변 압축비 제어 방법에 관한 것으로, 주변 차량 정보를 센싱하는 운전자 지원부와, 주행 중 압축비를 변경하는 압축비 변경부를 포함하며, 주행 중 변속기에 의한 동력 전달을 차단하는 중립 제어 모드가 구현되는 차량의 가변 압축비 제어 시스템에 있어서, 중립 제어 모드 구현 중에 운전자 지원부를 통해 획득된 정보를 이용해 압축비 변경부가 작동하며, 중립 제어 모드가 구현된 관성 주행 중에 압축비가 변동되므로, 압축비 변동에 의한 충격이 운전자에게 전달되지 않으며, 엔진 작동 사운드가 작은 바, 엔진 작동 사운드 변경을 운전자가 인지하기 어려워지고, 이에 따라, 압축비 변경시 운전자가 차량 고장을 의심할 만한 이질감을 느끼지 않게 되는 가변 압축비 제어 시스템 및 가변 압축비 제어 방법을 제공한다.
