The present invention provides a system and a method for detecting passengers in a vehicle using an Ultra-Wide Band radar, wherein the system includes: a transceiver for transmitting an Ultra-Wide Band radar pulse signal at a certain period of time and for receiving a reflected signal reflected by objects in a vehicle; a behavior detection module for detecting a behavior of a passenger in a vehicle by using the reflected signal. The present invention can detect a passenger in a vehicle faster than the time required to process collected values in the frequency domain by using a conventional Ultra-Wide Band radar by processing the values collected by using the Ultra-Wide Band radar in the time domain. In addition, the system detects a large movement such as a hand or foot movement of the passenger in the vehicle and a small movement such as a passenger breathing quietly by using separate data processing procedures. Therefore, the present invention enables fast and accurate passenger detection.
본 발명은 Ultra-Wide Band 레이더를 이용한 차량내 승객 감지 시스템 및 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명은 Ultra-Wide Band 레이더를 이용하여 수집된 값들을 시간 영역에서 처리함으로써, 종래의 Ultra-Wide Band 레이더를 이용하여 수집된 값을 주파수 영역에서 처리하기 위해서 소요되는 시간보다 신속하게 차량내 승객을 감지할 수 있다. 또한, 본 발명은 차량내 승객이 손 또는 발을 움직이는 것과 같은 큰 움직임과, 승객이 가만히 숨을 쉬고 있는 것 같은 작은 움직임을 각각 별도의 데이터 처리 절차를 이용하여 감지함으로써, 보다 신속하면서도 정확한 승객 감지가 가능하다.
