According to the present invention, a cooling system for a refrigerator/freezer truck comprises: a vehicle engine; a generator; a vehicle battery; a cooling battery which operates at a relatively high voltage compared to the vehicle battery and stores electric energy supplied from external power distinct from the refrigerator/freezer truck; and at least one cooling unit which includes an electric compressor having a DC motor, a condenser, an expansion valve, and an evaporator to form a cooling cycle. The cooling system is configured to electrically cut off the power of the generator not to be applied to the electric compressor in normal situations, to use the power of the cooling battery only as driving power for the electric compressor in a driving mode, to use the power of the cooling battery as driving power for the entire power load of the cooling unit including the electric compressor in a parking mode, and to use the external power as driving power for the entire power load of the cooling unit and provide charging power to the cooling battery in a waiting mode, so as to drive the cooling unit from a power source completely irrelevant to engine power for vehicle driving, thereby preventing a reduction in the engine efficiency and avoiding the cooling efficiency from being influenced by a driving condition such as RPM changes.

    본 발명에 따른 냉장/냉동 탑차의 냉각 시스템은, 차량용 엔진, 발전기, 차량용 배터리, 상기 차량용 배터리에 비해 상대적으로 고전압으로 작동되며, 상기 냉장/냉동 탑차와는 별도의 외부 전원으로부터 공급된 전기 에너지를 저장하기 위한 냉각용 배터리 및, 직류 모터가 구비된 전동 압축기, 응축기, 팽창밸브 및 증발기를 포함하여 냉각 사이클을 이루는 적어도 하나의 냉각 유닛을 포함하여 구성되며, 통상적인 상황에서는 상기 발전기의 전력이 상기 전동 압축기에 인가되지 않도록 전기적으로 차단됨과 동시에, 주행 모드에서는, 상기 냉각용 배터리 전원은 상기 전동 압축기 구동 전원으로만 사용되며, 주차 모드에서는, 상기 냉각용 배터리 전원은 상기 전동 압축기를 포함한 상기 냉각 유닛 전력 부하 전체의 구동 전원으로 사용되며, 대기모드에서는 상기 외부전원이 상기 냉각 유닛의 전력 부하 전체의 구동 전원으로 사용됨과 동시에 상기 냉각용 배터리에 충전 전력을 제공하도록 구성되어, 차량 운행을 위한 엔진 동력과는 완전히 무관한 동력원으로부터 냉각 유닛을 구동시키므로, 엔진 효율 저하가 발생하지 않고 RPM 변화 등 운행 상태에 따른 냉각 효율의 영향도 받지 않는다.
