Disclosed in the present invention is a wedge structure for reducing ice resistance of a ship sailing in a polar region, which comprises: a first wedge which protrudes at an inclined first angle with respect to an ice plate in a longitudinal direction at a vessel body area of a prow (fwd) coming in contact with the ice plate when sailing in a polar region; a second wedge which protrudes at an inclined second angle with respect to the ice plate in a longitudinal direction at a vessel body area of a ship′s side (mid) coming in contact with the ice plate; and a third wedge which protrudes at an inclined third angle with respect to the ice plate in a longitudinal direction at a vessel body area of the stern coming in contact with the ice plate. Therefore, the contact angle between the vessel body and the ice plate can be reduced in order to minimize ice resistance in a widthwise direction of a vessel. Furthermore, even when a diesel propeller is applied to a vessel body structure in which a flat plate is applied to a side surface of the vessel body due to the compatibility of the vessel body like an LNG carrier, an ice-turning performance, which is one of the major functions of an ice breaker, can be guaranteed. In addition, a heating unit is applied to the wedge to thaw ice fixed to the vessel body or ice around the vessel body when required, thereby preventing the circumstance in which the vessel body is stuck in an ice plate.

    본 발명은, 극지운항시, 얼음판과 접촉하는 선수(fwd)의 선체영역에 길이방향으로 얼음판과 제1 각도로 경사져 돌출 형성되는 제1 웻지, 얼음판과 접촉하는 선측(mid)의 선체영역에 길이방향으로 얼음판과 제2 각도로 경사져 돌출 형성되는 제2 웻지, 및 얼음판과 접촉하는 선미의 선체영역에 길이방향으로 얼음판과 제3 각도로 경사져 돌출 형성되는 제3 웻지;로 구성되어서, 선체와 얼음판과의 접촉각을 줄여 선박의 폭방향 빙저항을 최소화할 수 있으며, LNG 운반선과 같이 선체 양립성으로 인해 선체의 측면에 평판을 적용하는 선체 구조에 디젤추진기를 적용해도 쇄빙선의 주요기능인 아이스 터닝 성능을 확보할 수 있고, 히팅부를 웻지에 적용하여 필요시 선체에 고착된 얼음 또는 선체주변의 얼음을 해빙시켜서, 선체가 얼음판에 갇히는 상황을 방지할 수 있는, 극지운항선박의 빙저항 감소를 위한 웻지구조를 개시한다.
