The present invention relates to a system and method for extending the lifespan of a lithium ion battery, which calculates a battery charging start time when a charging completion time is set in a vehicle′s battery management system, and blocks the battery charging until the battery charging start time is reached, thereby minimizing the duration of fully charged state of batteries.

    본 발명은 차량의 배터리 관리 시스템에서 충전 완료 시점을 설정하면 그에 따른 배터리 충전개시 시점을 계산하고, 배터리 충전개시 시점에 도달하기 전까지 배터리 충전을 차단함으로써, 배터리의 완전충전 상태의 지속시간을 최소화 할 수 있도록 하는 리튬이온 배터리의 수명 연장 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
