The present invention provides an automatic emergency braking apparatus which can actively operate in a limit situation of a sensor, and a control method thereof. The automatic emergency braking apparatus comprises: a front sensor unit to search for a control target in front of a vehicle to sense object information; a compensation condition sensing unit to sense a vehicle state and a surrounding state to predict a road state and a driving environment in which the vehicle drives; a braking unit to generate a braking force to brake the vehicle; a warning operation unit to notify an operating state when the vehicle brakes; and a control unit to determine whether a collision occurs based on the object information sensed from the front sensor unit to calculate a braking force and braking time, adjust the calculated braking force and braking time in accordance with the road state and the surrounding environment predicted from the vehicle state sensed from the compensation condition sensing unit to output a braking command to the braking unit, and notify an operating state by the warning operation unit in accordance with the braking command.

    본 발명은 자동 긴급 제동장치 및 그 제어방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 자동 긴급 제동장치는, 차량 전방의 제어 목표타겟을 탐색하여 물체정보를 감지하는 전방센서부; 차량이 주행하는 노면상태와 주행환경을 예측하기 위해 차량상태 및 주변상태를 감지하는 보상조건 감지부; 차량을 제동시키기 위해 제동력을 발생시키는 제동부; 차량의 제동시 작동상태를 알리는 경고 작동부; 및 전방센서부로부터 감지한 물체정보에 기초하여 충돌여부를 판단하여 제동력과 제동시점을 산출하고, 보상조건 감지부로부터 감지된 차량상태로부터 예측된 노면상태와 주변환경에 따라 산출된 제동력과 제동시점을 조정하여 제동명령을 제동부에 출력하며, 제동명령에 따라 경고 작동부를 통해 작동상태를 알리는 제어부;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
