Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for generating a 3D model for initial ship outfitting design. The 3D model generating apparatus comprises the following steps of: extracting geometric information of each section from ship section information; excluding coordinate located on a line, instead of a corner, among coordinates of facets included in the geometric information; and generating a structure file for 3D CAD program including panel information for representing a position of a panel and boundary information for defining an area of the panel based on the coordinates of each the facets.

    초기 의장 설계용 3차원 모델 생성 방법 및 그 장치가 개시된다. 3차원모델생성장치는 선박구획정보에서 각 구획의 기하학 정보를 추출하고, 기하학 정보에 포함된 각 면(facet)의 좌표값 중 코너가 아닌 라인에 위치한 좌표값을 배제한 후, 각 면의 좌표값을 기초로, 판넬의 위치를 나타내는 판넬 정보와 판넬의 영역을 정의하는 경계 정보를 포함하는 3차원 캐드 프로그램용 구조파일을 생성한다.
