The present invention provides a safety distance control device which obtains administrative information such as turbid atmosphere changed due to a weather change in real time and safely controls transportation means without collision, for a safety of the transportation means such as a vehicle, a ship, and an airplane. The safety distance control device of the transportation means through distance detection is disclosed. The safety distance control device comprises: a light emitting element group including at least one light emitting element, installed on the transportation means, and forwardly emitting UV light; a light receiving group including at least one light receiving element receiving the UV light which is backwardly reflected or scattered when the UV light emitted from the light emitting element group is backwardly reflected or scattered by a forward obstacle or a backscatter zone; and a control part comparing an intensity of measured UV light received by the light receiving element within the light receiving element group with an intensity of reference UV light to obtain distance information between the transportation means and the obstacle, and using the distance information in controlling the transportation means.
