The present invention relates to a regenerative braking system of a vehicle capable of increasing the amount of regenerative braking energy recovered by detecting the braking will of a driver to perform regenerative braking, and a driving method thereof. The regenerative braking system of a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a proximity sensor disposed on a brake pedal and detecting the contact and proximity of the foot of a driver or within a predetermined distance; a control part for determining whether there is the deceleration will of the driver based on the detection signal of the proximity sensor, and determining whether to perform the regenerative braking when there is the deceleration will; and a regenerative braking driving part for performing the regenerative braking under the control of the control part.

    본 발명은 운전자의 제동 의지를 감지하여 회생 제동을 수행함으로써, 회생 제동 에너지 회수량을 증가시킬 수 있는 차량의 회생 제동 시스템 및 이의 구동 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 차량의 회생 제동 시스템은, 브레이크 페달에 배치되어 운전자의 발의 접촉 또는 일정거리 이내로 근접하는 것을 검출하는 근접 센서와; 상기 근접 센서의 검출 신호에 기초하여 운전자의 감속 의지를 판단하고, 감속 의지가 판단되면 회생 제동의 수행을 결정하는 제어부와; 상기 제어부의 제어에 따라 회생 제동을 수행하는 회생 제동 구동부;를 포함한다.
