The present invention relates to a smart parking assist system and method, which is capable of checking presence of an obstacle at the time of departure of a vehicle parked in a parking lot to determine availability of departure to inform a direction of departure to a driver, or allowing an automatic departure in the departure direction. The disclosed smart parking assist method comprises the following steps of: (A) sensing an object in front of a vehicle and in the side and rear thereof; (B) calculating a distance to the object sensed in front of a vehicle and in the side and rear thereof; (C) recognizing a departure mode in accordance with a distance relationship between the vehicle and the object sensed in front of a vehicle and in the side and rear thereof; and (D) adjusting a steering angle in accordance with the recognized departure mode.

    본 발명은 주차장에 주차되어 있는 차량의 출차 시에 장애물의 존재 여부를 확인하여 출차 가능 상태를 판단해 출차 방향을 운전자에게 알려주거나, 또는 해당 출차 방향으로 자동 출차할 수 있도록 하는 스마트 주차 지원 시스템 및 방법이 개시된다. 개시된 스마트 주차 지원 방법은, (a) 차량의 전방과 측방 및 후방에 있는 물체를 감지하는 단계; (b) 상기 전방과 측방 및 후방에서 감지된 물체와의 거리를 산출하는 단계; (c) 상기 전방과 측방 및 후방에서 감지된 물체와 상기 차량 간의 거리 관계에 따라 출차 모드를 인식하는 단계; 및 (d) 상기 인식된 출차 모드에 따라 조향각을 조절하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
