The present invention provides an interval detector using a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), a travel time estimating system having the same, and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the interval detector uses the RSSI in a wireless communication way to improve the accuracy of the interval detector which is based on wireless communication such as DSRC/WAVE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the like to minimize ambiguity of a detection location in the interval detector. The interval detector includes: a passing vehicle detecting unit (210) which detects a vehicle (100) having on-board equipment (OBE) installed therein and passing through a wireless sensor interval detection area at predetermined periods; a vehicle identification number detecting unit (220) which detects a vehicle identification (ID) number corresponding to OBE of the vehicle (100); an RSSI estimating unit (230) which estimates the RSSI at the predetermined periods; a detection time estimating unit (240) which estimates a detection time of a location having the maximum RSSI and determines the detection time as detection time data; and a data transmitting unit (250) which transmits the vehicle ID number and the detection time data to a traffic control center (400).

    무선통신 방식의 수신신호강도지수(Received Signal Strength Indicator: RSSI)를 이용하여 DSRC/WAVE, Wi-Fi, 블루투스 등 무선통신-기반의 구간 검지기의 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있고, 구간 검지기에서 검지위치의 모호성을 최소화할 수 있는, 수신신호강도지수를 이용한 구간 검지기 및 이를 구비한 통행시간 산출 시스템과 방법이 제공된다.
