The present invention provides a method and a device to detect a tire defect which protects a driver from potential danger by detecting the tire defect using an ultrasonic sensor mounted on a tire wheel, and outputting an alarm in accordance with the detected defect. The device to detect the tire defect of the tire comprises: the ultrasonic sensor including a first sensor and a second sensor; and a defect position detection unit calculating a distance from the first sensor to an inner defect using a time until a reflection signal is received, detecting a position of the inner defect in accordance with the distance. The ultrasonic sensor comprises: the first sensor transmitting an ultrasonic signal at a predetermined inclination angle onto the inner surface of the tire by being attached to a vehicle wheel; and the second sensor attached to the vehicle wheel on a fixated interval from the first sensor, receiving the reflection signal of the ultrasonic signal returned by being reflected by the inner tire defect.

    본 발명은 타이어의 결함 검출 장치 및 그 방법을 제공한다. 상기 타이어의 결함 검출 장치는 차량 휠에 부착되어 타이어의 내측면에 대해 임의의 경사 각도로 초음파신호를 송신하는 제1센서와, 상기 제1센서로부터 일정한 거리를 두고 상기 차량 휠에 부착되어 상기 타이어의 내부 결함에 의해 반사되어 돌아오는 상기 초음파신호의 반사신호를 수신하는 제2센서를 포함하는 초음파센서 및 상기 반사신호를 수신하기까지 걸린 시간을 이용하여 상기 제1센서로부터 상기 내부 결함까지의 거리를 계산하고, 상기 거리에 따른 상기 내부 결함의 위치를 검출하는 결함위치검출부를 포함한다.
