The present invention relates to an assembly for a retractable thruster (300) which is appropriate to be attached to a hull of a marine ship (11). The assembly has a thruster receiving assembly (100), and the thruster can be expanded from the thruster receiving assembly into the water and retreated from the water. The thruster receiving assembly (100) has a driving assembly (200) wherein the thruster is suspended thereby. The driving assembly (200) further comprises: a thruster expansion and retraction device; a thruster rotation device; a motor assembly; and switching devices (211, 214, 217, 218, 219, 220). According to the present invention, the same driving assembly (200) is used for expanding, retracting, and rotating the thruster.
