The present invention relates to a method for calculating distance to empty (DTE) of an electric vehicle, more specifically, to a method for calculating DTE of an electric vehicle, which accurately predicts DTE by using the law of energy conservation in consideration of altitude information and location energy. The method for calculating DTE of an electric vehicle accurately predicts DTE even in long ascending driving and long descending driving by defining the total available energy having available battery energy by using the law of energy conservation in consideration of a current altitude of a vehicle and location energy according to reference altitude information. The method comprises the following steps of: measuring and checking a current altitude of the vehicle; calculating a reference altitude with respect to the current altitude; calculating location energy according to the current altitude and the reference altitude; and calculating DTE by using the total available energy defined as the sum of the location energy and the available battery energy.

    본 발명은 전기자동차의 잔존주행거리 예측 방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 고도 정보 및 위치에너지를 고려한 에너지 보존 법칙을 이용하여 잔존주행거리를 정확하게 예측할 수 있도록 한 전기자동차의 잔존주행거리 예측 방법에 관한 것이다. 즉, 본 발명은 차량의 현재고도 및 기준고도 정보에 따른 위치에너지를 고려한 에너지 보존 법칙을 이용하여 배터리 가용에너지를 포함하는 전체 가용에너지를 정의함으로써, 장등판 및 장강판 상황에서도 잔존주행거리를 정확하게 예측할 수 있도록 한 전기자동차의 잔존주행거리 예측 방법을 제공하고자 한 것이다.
