A battery discharge preventing method for a hybrid vehicle according to the present invention includes a step of sensing an engine start input; a step of charging a supercapacitor using an idle stop & go (ISG) motor; a step of connecting a power source relay; and a step of transmitting an output of a DC-DC power converting device to a battery. A battery discharge preventing system for a hybrid vehicle for the same includes the supercapacitor; the battery; the power source relay controlling the battery; the DC-DC power converting device of which output is connected to the power source relay; and the ISG motor charging the supercapacitor when the engine start input is sensed.
