Disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a vehicle equipped with an ammonia fuel cell and an operating method thereof. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises: an ammonia tank for storing ammonia; a cracker for decomposing ammonia supplied from the ammonia tank into hydrogen; and a controller for calculating an estimated hydrogen consumption amount based on at least one of real-time driving information and driving pattern information and controlling at least one of a supply amount of ammonia and an internal condition of the cracker based on the estimated hydrogen consumption amount.

    암모니아 연료전지를 탑재한 차량을 제어하기 위한 장치 및 동작 방법이 개시된다. 본 개시에 따른 장치는, 암모니아를 저장하는 암모니아 탱크, 암모니아 탱크로부터 공급된 암모니아를 수소로 분해하는 크래커, 및 실시간 운행 정보 및 운전 패턴 정보 중 적어도 하나를 기반으로 예상 수소 소모량을 산출하고, 예상 수소 소모량을 기반으로 암모니아의 공급량 및 크래커의 내부 조건 중 적어도 하나를 제어하는 제어기를 포함한다.
