A variable stiffness device for a suspension to which a magnetorheological elastomer is applied includes a rod unit, an inner bobbin part, a coil unit, and a variable unit. The inner bobbin part comprises one pair of first and second inner bobbins installed outside the load unit. The coil unit comprises an inner coil wound between the first and second inner bobbins. The variable unit comprises an inner variable part interposed between the rod unit and the first inner bobbin. In this case, the inner variable part is a magnetorheological elastomer whose stiffness is varied by a magnetic field induced according to a current applied to the inner coil.

    자기유변 탄성체가 적용된 현가장치용 가변 강성장치는 로드유닛, 내측 보빈부, 코일유닛 및 가변유닛을 포함한다. 상기 내측 보빈부는 상기 로드유닛의 외부에 구비되는 한 쌍의 제1 및 제2 내측 보빈들을 포함한다. 상기 코일유닛은 상기 제1 및 제2 내측 보빈들 사이에 권선되는 내측 코일을 포함한다. 상기 가변유닛은 상기 로드유닛과 상기 제1 내측 보빈의 사이에 개재되는 내측 가변부를 포함한다. 이 경우, 상기 내측 가변부는, 상기 내측 코일에 인가되는 전류에 따라 유도되는 자기장에 의해 강성이 가변되는 자기유변 탄성체이다.
