본 발명에 따른 WAVE 통신 시스템은 레이더 및 카메라 중 하나 이상을 통해 차량 감지 정보를 수집하는 차량 감지부, 상기 수집된 차량 감지 정보에 기초하여 차량 포화도, 차량 속도 및 WAVE 메시지의 긴급도를 분석하고, 상기 분석 결과에 기초하여 WAVE 메시지의 전송주기를 결정하는 제어부 및 상기 결정된 전송주기에 기초하여 상기 WAVE 메시지를 외부로 전송하는 WAVE 통신부를 포함한다.

    The present invention provides a wireless access vehicular environment (WAVE) communication system and a method thereof capable of variably adjusting a transmission period of a WAVE message in consideration of saturation of surrounding vehicles, vehicle speed, and urgency of a WAVE message in an infrastructure system which transmits WAVE service messages such as traffic information to vehicles. According to the present invention, a WAVE communication system comprises: a vehicle detection unit which collects vehicle detection information through one or more of a radar and a camera; a control unit which analyzes vehicle saturation, vehicle speed, and urgency of a WAVE message based on the collected vehicle detection information, and determines a transmission period of a WAVE message based on the analysis result; and a WAVE communication unit which transmits the WAVE message to the outside based on the determined transmission period.
