본 발명은 충돌발생 시에 전방 충돌 및 후방 충돌을 간편하게 판별함으로써 에어백의 안정적인 전개를 확보할 수 있는 차량용 충돌 판별장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 의한 차량용 충돌 판별장치는 차량의 충돌상태를 검출하는 복수의 센서; 및 상기 복수의 센서가 접속된 에어백 컨트롤유닛;을 포함하고, 상기 에어백 컨트롤유닛은 복수의 센서에 의해 검출된 신호를 통해 차량의 충돌방향을 판단하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

    The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for vehicle crash discrimination, which secures stable deployment of an airbag by conveniently discriminating a front crash and a rear crash when a crash occurs. According to the present invention, the apparatus for vehicle crash discrimination comprises: a plurality of sensors detecting a crash state of a vehicle; and an airbag control unit to which the sensors are accessed. The airbag control unit is configured to determine a crash direction of a vehicle through a signal detected by the sensors.
