The present specification relates to an unmanned aerial vehicle for object identification, capable of recognizing an object in a bad weather environment using a lidar sensor, and an object identification method of the unmanned aerial vehicle. According to one embodiment of the present specification, the unmanned aerial vehicle for object identification comprises: a data receiving unit for obtaining lidar data including image data and three-dimensional (3D) location information from each of an image sensor and the lidar sensor; a depth map conversion unit for converting the obtained lidar data into two-dimensional (2D) coordinates and converting the converted 2D coordinates into a depth map; a fusion data generation unit generating red green depth (RGD) fusion data by matching the depth map to the image data; and an object identification unit identifying objects included in the RGD fusion data generated by using a deep learning model.
