The present invention relates to a method for controlling EV mode driving of a hybrid electric vehicle. The method for controlling EV mode driving of a hybrid electric vehicle includes: a step of collecting road information to a destination, which is preset by a navigation device of a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), by a traffic information collecting device; a step of distinguishing a congested section and a smooth traffic section by using the road information to the destination; a step of calculating a state of charge (SOC) of a battery, which is chargeable in the smooth traffic section; and a step of controlling driving of the hybrid electric vehicle in an electric vehicle (EV) mode until the SOC of the battery which is chargeable in a next smooth traffic section is exhausted when the hybrid electric vehicle enters the congested section. According to the present invention, the method for controlling EV mode driving of a hybrid electric vehicle can improve fuel efficiency by optimally driving the hybrid electric vehicle only in a motor mode by considering a usage amount of the SCO enabling the hybrid electric vehicle to drive only by a motor in a low speed section and the congested section.

    본 발명은 하이브리드 차량(HEV)의 네비게이션 장치를 통해 설정된 목적지까지의 도로정보를 교통정보 수집장치를 통해 수집하는 단계, 상기 목적지까지의 도로정보에 의해 정체구간과 원활구간을 분별하는 단계, 상기 원활구간에서 충전 가능한 배터리 SOC(State of Charge)량을 계산하는 단계 및 상기 하이브리드 차량이 정체구간 진입시 다음 원활구간에서 충전 가능한 배터리 SOC량이 소진될 때까지 상기 하이브리드 차량을 EV(Electric Vehicle) 모드로 주행 제어하는 단계를 포함하는 하이브리드 차량의 EV 모드 주행 제어 방법으로서, 본 발명에 의하면, 저속 및 정체 구간에서 모터만으로 주행 가능한 SOC 사용량을 고려하여 모터 모드로만 최적으로 주행하여 연비를 향상시킬 수 있다.
