A sensor device for detecting a vehicle traveling on a road is disclosed. The sensor device includes a light emitting element for emitting an infrared signal, a light receiving element for receiving the infrared signal reflected and incident by a vehicle, and a mounting member to which the light emitting element and the light receiving element are affixed. The light receiving element is mounted at a stepped position so as to project relatively more toward the vehicle side than the light emitting element. By preventing direct or indirect transmission of infrared signals between the light emitting element and the light receiving element, errors in the detection operation are minimized.

    도로를 주행하는 차량을 검지하는 센서장치가 개시된다. 센서장치는, 적외선 신호를 발광하는 발광소자, 차량에 의해 반사되어 입사되는 적외선 신호를 수광하는 수광소자, 및 발광소자와 수광소자가 강착되는 장착부재를 구비한다. 수광소자는 발광소자보다 차량측을 향해 상대적으로 더 돌출되도록 단차진 위치에 장착된다. 발광소자와 수광소자 사이의 직접적, 간접적인 적외선 신호의 수수(授受)를 방지함으로써 검지 동작의 오류가 최소화된다.
