자동차의 타이어의 용도로 이용되고, 자동차의 저(低)연비 성능을 높일 수 있는 가교 중합체의 원료로서 이용할 수 있는 공액 디엔계 중합체의 제조 방법을 제공한다. 하기식 (1) 및 (2)로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종의 화합물과, 알칼리 금속 화합물 또는 알칼리 토금속 화합물의 존재하에서, 공액 디엔계 화합물을 포함하는 단량체, 또는, 공액 디엔계 화합물과 방향족 비닐 화합물을 포함하는 단량체를 중합시켜, 변성 공액 디엔계 중합체를얻는 중합 공정을 포함하는 변성 공액 디엔계 중합체의 제조 방법이다:(식 중, A은, 3치환의 하이드로카빌실릴기와, N, P 및 S로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종의 원자를 갖고, 활성 수소를 갖지 않고, R과는 상기 N, P 또는 S의 원자에서 결합하고 있는 관능기이고; R및 R는, 하이드로카빌렌기이고; 식 중, 복수로 존재하는 R, R및 A은, 각각, 동일해도 상이해도 좋음).

    A method for producing a conjugated diene polymer usable as a raw material of a crosslinked polymer which is used for use in tires of automobiles and can enhance low fuel consumption performance of automobiles is provided. A method for producing a modified conjugated diene polymer comprising a polymerization step in which monomer including a conjugated diene compound or monomer including a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound are polymerized in the presence of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of the following formulae (1) and (2) and an alkali metal compound or an alkaline earth metal compound to obtain a modified conjugated diene polymer. (In the formulae, A 1 is a functional group which has a three-substituted hydrocarbylsilyl group; has at least one atom selected from the group consisting of N, P and S; has no active hydrogen and is bound to R 1 by any one atom of the above N, P and S. R 1 and R 2 are hydrocarbylene groups. In the formulae, R 1 , R 2 and A 1 which are each present in plurality may each be same or different.)
