The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling a hybrid electric vehicle. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for controlling a hybrid electric vehicle comprises: a navigation device providing map information including the grade of a road and traffic information; an accelerator pedal position detection part detecting the position of an accelerator pedal; a brake pedal position detection part detecting the position of the brake pedal; a vehicle speed detection part detecting the speed of a vehicle; the state of charge (SOC) detection part detecting the state of charge of a battery; a gear detection part detecting a currently engaged gear; and a controller operated by a program set to control a hybrid vehicle based on the navigation device, the accelerator pedal position detection part, the brake pedal position detection part, the vehicle speed detection part, the SOC detection part and the transmission step detection part. According to the present invention, driving energy of the hybrid vehicle can be optimized in the entire driving section.

    본 발명은 하이브리드 차량의 제어 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 실시예에 따른 하이브리드 차량의 제어 장치는, 도로의 구배도를 포함하는 지도 정보 및 교통 정보를 제공하는 내비게이션 장치; 가속 페달의 위치를 검출하는 가속 페달 위치 검출부; 브레이크 페달의 위치를 검출하는 브레이크 페달 위치 검출부; 차속을 검출하는 차속 검출부; 배터리의 SOC를 검출하는 SOC 검출부; 현재 체결되어 있는 변속단을 검출하는 변속단 검출부; 상기 내비게이션 장치, 가속 페달 위치 검출부, 브레이크 페달 위치 검출부, 차속 검출부, SOC 검출부, 및 변속단 검출부의 신호를 기초로 하이브리드 차량을 제어하도록 설정된 프로그램에 의하여 동작하는 제어기를 포함할 수 있다.
