PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rubber composition for a tire excellent in WET performance and low fuel consumption performance, the rubber composition having excellent workability and storage stability.SOLUTION: There is provided the method for producing a rubber composition for a tire which contains a diene rubber, silica, polysiloxane represented by a specific average composition formula, and a sulfide-based silane coupling agent. In the rubber composition for a tire, a content of the silica is 70-200 pts.mass with respect to 100 pts.mass of the diene rubber, and a content of the polysiloxane is 2-15 mass% with respect to the content of the silica. The method comprises a first mixing step of mixing at least the diene rubber, the silica and the polysiloxane represented by a specific average composition formula, and a second mixing step of mixing at least a mixture obtained in the first mixing step and a sulfide-based silane coupling agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
