To provide an automatic travel vehicle operation system and an automatic travel vehicle operation method for improving controllability of an operation.SOLUTION: An automatic travel vehicle operation system includes a plurality of tracks, an information presentation section, and an automatic travel vehicle. The plurality of tracks include a first track and a second track. The information presentation section presents information attached to the plurality of tracks. The automatic travel vehicle reads positions of the plurality of tracks so as to travel along the read tracks. The automatic travel vehicle includes an information acquisition section. The information acquisition section can acquire the information from the information presentation section when coming within a readable range from the information presentation section. The automatic travel vehicle is switched from a state for traveling along the first track by reading the first track to a state for traveling along the second track by reading the second track based on the information acquired by the information acquisition section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
