To provide a vehicle controller and a vehicle control method, capable of optimally controlling deceleration of a vehicle on the basis of a deceleration quantity effected when a vehicle is driven in an automatic driving mode and a deceleration quantity dependent on a driver's depression of a brake pedal.SOLUTION: A processor 162 of an ECU 160 includes an action schedule determination block 162a that determines an action schedule of an own vehicle capable of being automatically driven, and a notification block 162b that notifies another surrounding vehicle of two or more successive action schedules. The notification block 162b includes at least one of a first notification block 162c that notifies the external surroundings of the two or more successive action schedules from the own vehicle by display or voice, and a second notification block 162d that notifies the other surrounding vehicle of the two or more successive action schedules by interior display or voice.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
