To provide a welding method and a welding structure which can easily suppress fatigue of a member to be mounted welded with a bracket, without changing a wall thickness and materials of the member to be mounted.SOLUTION: The welding method, which welds a first side surface 6a of a tabular lower mounting piece 6 to an outer shell 2, from a rear side of the lower mounting piece 6 to a front end thereof, by butting the lower mounting piece 6 provided in a bracket 4 against the outer shell 2, comprises: a step of forming weld bead B1 between the first side surface 6a and a site opposing to the first side surface 6a of the outer shell 2, by welding the first side 6a to the outer shell 2 from the rear side of the lower mounting piece 6 to the front end thereof; and a step of forming extended-weld bead B2 between a second side surface 6b that is a side surface of the front end of the lower mounting piece 6 and the outer shell 2, on an extending line of the first side surface 6a in the outer shell 2, by welding the lower mounting piece 6 along the first side surface 6a beyond the front end of the first side surface 6a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
