To provide a vessel propeller capable of suppressing intrusion of foreign matter into a gap between an inner periphery surface of a duct and an outer periphery surface of a rim while suppressing increase in electric power consumption for rotating the rim as well as suppressing deterioration in maximum output of a motor and at the same time without providing an intrusion suppression member with a relatively complicated structure.SOLUTION: This vessel propeller 100 includes an intrusion suppression member 60 composed of extendable/retractable material, provided peripherally in between an inner periphery surface 40a of a duct 40 and an outer periphery surface 51a of a rim 51 for suppressing intrusion of foreign matter including gravel into a gap G in between the inner periphery surface 40a of the duct 40 and the outer periphery surface 51a of the rim 51 in direction R (radial direction of a rotor 54). In addition, thickness t of the intrusion suppression member 60 composed of extendable/retractable material is greater than minimum width W1 of the gap G as well as being smaller than maximum width W2 of the gap G in the direction R.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】リムを回転させるための電力消費量が増加するのを抑制するとともにモータの最大出力が低下するのを抑制しながら、かつ、比較的複雑な構造を有する侵入抑制部材を設けることなく、ダクトの内周面とリムの外周面との間の隙間への異物の侵入を抑制することが可能な船舶推進機を提供する。【解決手段】この船舶推進機100は、R方向(ロータ54の径方向)において、ダクト40の内周面40aとリム51の外周面51aとの間に周状に設けられ、R方向におけるダクト40の内周面40aとリム51の外周面51aとの間の隙間Gへの砂利を含む異物の侵入を抑制する、伸縮可能な材料から構成された侵入抑制部材60を備える。そして、R方向において、伸縮可能な材料から構成された侵入抑制部材60の厚みtは、隙間Gの最小幅W1よりも大きく、かつ、隙間Gの最大幅W2よりも小さい。【選択図】図5
