To effectively prevent giving trouble to a driver.SOLUTION: A drive assistance device (1) comprises: a target acquisition unit (30) that acquires a target existing near an own vehicle (SV); and a control unit (10) that, when it is determined that a target acquired by the target acquisition unit (30) is a to-be-avoided object (OB) that is likely to collide with the own vehicle (SV), executes collision avoidance control which controls traveling of the own vehicle (SV) so as to avoid a collision of the own vehicle (SV) with the to-be-avoided object (OB). The control unit (10) detects a specific target (ST) between the own vehicle (SV) and the to-be-avoided object (OB) and suppresses collision avoidance control if a positional relationship between the specific target (ST), the to-be-avoided object (OB) and the own vehicle (SV) satisfies a predetermined condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
