To provide a float capable of easily detoxifying ammonia while suppressing rise in cost and an ammonia detoxification method.SOLUTION: A float includes: a float body floating on sea water; an ammonia line provided in the float body circulating the ammonia water; an intake unit for taking in sea water inside the float body; a sea water introduction line for introducing the sea water taken in from the intake unit into the floating body; an electrolysis unit for generating sea water electrolyte containing sodium hypochlorite by performing electrolysis on the sea water introduced by the sea water introduction line; denitrifying reaction unit for having mixture of the ammonia water circulating in the ammonia line and the sea water electrolyte solution generated at the electrolysis unit react; and a discharge unit for discharging processed liquid after reaction at the denitrifying reaction unit into sea water surrounding the float body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
