To provide a power storage device for a railway vehicle, formed in a small size and having high reliability, and provide a cooling method of the power storage device in the railway vehicle.SOLUTION: Each of power storage devices 1, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, and 1G mounted onto a railway vehicle 2, includes: a power battery (a module 11); a circulation fan 12; a housing 1c housing and sealing the power battery (the module 11) and the circulation fan 12. The housing 1c includes a wind-receiving surface (at least any one of a device side surface 21, a device bottom surface 22, and a device ceiling surface 23) to which a traveling wind 3 generated in accordance with the traveling of the railway vehicle 2 is exposed. The circulation fan 12 circulates an air in the housing 1c in a circulation path 51 containing an inner wall surface of the housing 1c against a short direction S of the housing 1c of any one of the traveling direction of the railway vehicle 2 and an orthogonal direction to the traveling direction and the wind-receiving surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
