To provide a road surface state detection device that can detect a road surface state more accurately.SOLUTION: A road surface state detection device includes a processor. The processor acquires own vehicle information that is information containing road surface information of a travel route on which an own vehicle travels, and acquires another vehicle information that is information containing road surface information of a travel route on which another vehicle travels. The own vehicle information and the another vehicle information contain information related to a travel position in a width direction of a travel route. If a difference between a travel position in a width direction contained in the own vehicle information, and a travel position in a width direction contained in the another vehicle information is less than predetermined value, road surface information of a travel route contained in the another vehicle information is specified as road surface information of a travel route on which the own vehicle travels.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
