To provide an estimation method of rolling resistance capable of accurately estimating rolling resistance of a tire.SOLUTION: An estimation method includes: a phase difference derivation process (1) for controlling a movement mechanism 60 such that a load applied to a tire is varied and for deriving a phase difference between a variation in a load and a variation in a position of a pressurizing member 58 on the basis of signals from a load sensor 62 and a position sensor 64; and a resistance estimation process (2) for comparing a phase difference derived in the phase difference derivation process for a reference tire with a phase difference derived in the phase difference derivation process for a tire to be estimated and for estimating rolling resistance of a tire to be estimated. A contact position of the pressurizing member 58 with a tread surface is set by considering at least one characteristic from among RFV and weight balance (1), TFV (2), a joint position of a tire component (3), and a tread gage (4).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】タイヤの転がり抵抗を正確に推定できる、転がり抵抗の推定方法の提供。【解決手段】この推定方法は、(1)タイヤに加わる荷重が変動するように移動機構60を制御し、荷重センサ62及び位置センサ64からの信号に基づき荷重の変動と加圧部材58の位置の変動との位相差を導出する位相差導出工程と、(2)基準タイヤについて位相差導出工程で導出した位相差と推定対象となるタイヤについて位相差導出工程で導出した位相差とを比較し、推定対象となるタイヤの転がり抵抗を推定する転がり抵抗推定工程とを含む。トレッド面との加圧部材58の接触位置は、(1)RFV及びウェイトアンバランス、(2)TFV、(3)タイヤ構成要素のジョイント位置及び(4)トレッドゲージのうち、少なくとも一の特性を考慮して設定される。【選択図】図2
