To turn a towing automobile to the right or to the left without obstructing surrounding traffic.SOLUTION: A detection unit 11 of a vehicle control device 1 detects a preceding vehicle 200 being stopped in an approach lane L2 that a towing automobile 100 enters after turning to the right or to the left a crossing C ahead of the towing automobile 100. When the towing automobile 100 can be stopped in the approach lane L2 without protruding to an adjacent lane L3 adjacent to the approach lane L2 or to the crossing C behind the preceding vehicle 200 after turning to the right or to the left, a travel control unit 12 of the vehicle control device 1 stops the towing automobile 100 behind the preceding vehicle 200 after turning to the right or to the left. When the towing automobile 100 cannot be stopped in the approach lane L2 without protruding to the adjacent lane L3 and to the crossing C behind the preceding vehicle 200 after turning to the right or to the left, on the other hand, the vehicle control unit 12 stops the towing automobile 100 before the crossing C. Only when traffic on the adjacent lane L3 is not obstructed, the towing automobile 100 is capable of entering the approach lane L2 after turning to the right or to the left, and the towing automobile 100 is capable of turning to the right or to the left at the crossing C without obstructing the surrounding traffic.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】牽引自動車が周囲の交通を妨げずに交差点で右左折する。【解決手段】車両制御装置1の検出部11は、牽引自動車100前方の交差点Cでの右左折後に牽引自動車100が進入する進入車線L2に停止中の先行車両200を検出する。車両制御装置1の走行制御部12は、右左折後に先行車両200後方で牽引自動車100が進入車線L2に隣接する隣車線L3及び交差点Cにはみ出さずに進入車線L2中に停止できるときは、牽引自動車100を右左折後に先行車両200後方に停止させる。一方、走行制御部12は、右左折後に先行車両200後方で牽引自動車100が隣車線L3及び交差点Cにはみ出さずに進入車線L2中に停止できないときは、牽引自動車100を交差点Cの手前に停止させる。隣車線L3の交通を妨げないときにのみ牽引自動車100が右左折後に進入車線L2に進入し、牽引自動車100が周囲の交通を妨げずに交差点Cでの右左折ができる。【選択図】図2
