To provide a tire groove measuring device and a tire groove measuring method that can improve the accuracy in measuring the depth of a tire groove.SOLUTION: A tire groove measuring device 100 comprises: a camera 1; a facing calculation unit 63a as a calculation unit; and a determination unit 63b. The camera 1 has a light projection unit 2 that projects pattern light for measurement on the tire, and two imaging units 3 that are arranged in the same direction as a direction in which the tire groove extends. The facing calculation unit 63a calculates the facing relationship between an outer surface of the tire and the camera 1 based on the images photographed by the imaging units 3. The determination unit 63b determines whether the outer surface of the tire and the camera 1 face each other based on a result of calculation made by the facing calculation unit 63a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
