To avoid an obstacle without obstructing traffic in the circumference.SOLUTION: In a vehicle control device 1, a detection unit 11 detects an obstacle 200 and a preceding vehicle 300, which stop at a front side of an automobile vehicle 100 in a self-vehicle lane L1; and a travel control unit 12 controls traveling of the automobile vehicle 100 on the basis of information related to the obstacle 200 and the preceding vehicle 300 and information related to a whole length of the automobile vehicle 100. The travel control unit 12 makes the automobile vehicle 100 stop after the traveling thereof between the obstacle 200 and the preceding vehicle 300 when the automobile vehicle 100 can be stopped in the self-vehicle lane L1 without crossing an adjacent vehicle lane L2 adjacent to the self-vehicle lane L1. On the other hand, the travel control unit 12 makes the automobile vehicle 100 stop at the rear side of the obstacle 200 when the automobile vehicle 100 cannot be stopped in the self-vehicle lane L1 without crossing the adjacent vehicle lane L2. Since the automobile vehicle 100 stops between the obstacle 200 and the preceding vehicle 300 when the traffic in the adjacent vehicle lane L2 cannot be prevented, the obstacle 200 can be avoided without obstructing the traffic in the circumference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】周囲の交通を妨げずに障害物を回避する。【解決手段】車両制御装置1では、検出部11により、自車線L1で自動車100の前方で停止している障害物200及び先行車両300が検出される。走行制御部12により、障害物200及び先行車両300に関する情報と自動車100の全長に関する情報とに基づいて、自動車100の走行が制御される。走行制御部12は、自車線L1に隣接する隣車線L2に自動車100がはみ出さずに自車線L1の中に停止できるときは、自動車100を障害物200と先行車両300との間に走行させた後に停止させる。一方、走行制御部12は、隣車線L2に自動車100がはみ出さずに自車線L1の中に停止できないときは、自動車100を障害物200の後方に停止させる。隣車線L2の交通を妨げないときに障害物200と先行車両300との間に自動車100が停止するため、周囲の交通を妨げずに障害物200を回避できる。【選択図】図2
