To obtain an inundation prevention device for an elevator hoistway capable of more reliably preventing inundation from a landing to a hoistway.SOLUTION: An inundation prevention device 2 for an elevator hoistway comprises a landing wall waterproof member 201 that is in surface contact with a landing wall member 103 having a landing doorway 104 formed thereon, a landing floor waterproof member 202 that is in surface contact with a landing floor member 105, and a waterproof cover member 203 provided over the landing wall waterproof member 201 and the landing floor waterproof member 202 so that the landing wall waterproof member 201, the landing floor waterproof member 202, and the waterproof cover member 203 block the landing doorway 104.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
