To suppress condensation of a gas in a space outside of an inner tank for storing a low temperature liquid.SOLUTION: A multiple shell tank includes: an inner tank for storing a low temperature liquid inside; one or a plurality of outer tanks housing the inner tank; and a heat insulation space disposed between the inner tank and the outer tank and filled with a gas. A pressure of the gas in the heat insulation space is kept at less than a saturation vapor pressure of the gas in the heat insulation space at a reference temperature as a temperature determined on the basis of a temperature of the inner tank or a temperature of a space inside of the inner tank.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
